I think that it began when suddenly; our parents were old and needed help. My sister and I are career women with busy lives and families. Sharon and our parents lived in Austin Texas, me in Denver Colorado.

Our parents were genteel, retired professionals who wanted to live full, active lives but needed my sister's help to live independently. She just couldn’t tend to their every social activity, hobby, shopping desire, or medical appointment and needed help as much as they did.
